FEATURED NEW RELEASES
"Roadhead Chronicles" By Mike Morino
Mike Marino has delivered a one-two punch of a book that goes under the V-8 hood of the American car culture. It’s style is fast paced, rapid fire and colorful, and examines the Chrome-magnon car and pop culture of America with a sense of humor, history, and a dose of horsepower haiku.
THE ROADHEAD CHRONICLES separates the world of the Roadhead into three distinct sections. You’ll jump into the backseat world of Saturday night drive-in movies, V-8’s and Vietnam, fuzzy dice, carhops, jukeboxes, and the rock ‘n roll rebel without a cause switchblade, black leather jacket lifestyle of the blue suede cruise of the 50’s and 60’s, not to mention the muscle-flexing Motor City of the ‘70s where GTO’s ruled the roads!
THE ROADHEAD CHRONICLES will also gas up and kick asphalt through the world of Route 66, the kitsch culture of roadside nostalgia, neon motels, cafes, gas stations and diners, along with an offbeat look at Mystery Spots, Rock City and other asphaltian oddities that have become destinations and road culture icons in and of themselves.
THE ROADHEAD CHRONICLES wraps up with previously published articles of Mike’s Roadhead Columns that explore the city where the “beat” goes on in Jack Kerouac’s North Beach, Jerry Garcia’s spare change Haight Ashbury, all the way to Cadillac Ranch and the famous Ken Kesey bus tour of America in the ‘60s. So buckle up, lock and load, and get ready to KICK ASPHALT as you fire up the engine and hit the highway in...THE ROADHEAD CHRONICLES!!
"Sons and Daughters" by Mike Macdee

"My Immortal" by Taysha Diaz
"For those of you who have ever loved, been forsaken, disgraced, scorned, are passionate, lustful, in denial, bipolar, borderline, been shitted on, stoned, inebriated, euphoric, manic, depressed, inspired, suicidal, on a downward spiral, at a loss for words, cutters, and who are on a never ending journey to finding your true self, this book is dedicated to you. This is me a barefoot contessa and this is my story..."
"17" by David R. Wadell
Any adult can remember what it was like to be 17. What it was like to know everything, be on top of the world, and know that you were invincible.
Any teenager coming into these years of unrivaled glory can attest to havingtheir first epiphany in knowing more than their parents and teachers. In the novel '17', we explore this world through the eyes of a 17 year old, written by a 17 year old, and we see just what understanding ourselves really is...
"On Deck" by Andre Gensburger
You find love in the strangest places yet, if you can’t reach for it you are doomed. Here, at a skate park, such a dilemma is presented to Daniel. Daniel must find his way past the pain of the past in order to find happiness, a task that sounds easy and yet, for many people, is the biggest challenge of all. Like the skaters he watches, Daniel must learn to push past his fears and take that chance while he can.
"Doomsday Trilogy" Book1 by Thomas Sebastian
Though the political vocabulary now in use in the western world may be relatively new: democracy, individual rights, free press and the like, the structure – the grammar -- of power in places like Washington, Moscow and Paris today is very much the same as it was in Ancient Mesopotamia, the Roman Empire, the Middle Ages -- and right through the fascist-plagued, 20th Century. We’re the same people after all. The differences now, of course, are in technology: The new player from which there is no escape.
Because of this new piece on the chessboard, the language of power politics now requires such precision that it may well be beyond the capacity of any leader or institution to employ it well. Any slip of the tongue (the President’s unfortunate use of the term, “Crusades”), misunderstood cue (the publishing of irreverent pictures of another’s faith) or imprecise policy (attacking a country with less than perfect information) – in other words, what we see daily on the front pages -- could easily result in the chain of events, reactions and overreactions that could well spell our doom.
I present for you here a fictionalized series of just such a disastrous chain of events. It is based on what I know of the personalities, events and zeitgeist of the first Bush Administration. After 20 years in Washington I have some basis for comparison: That was not the best team ever assembled to face a crisis of the magnitude with which they were faced. It was a clear -- even brilliant -- case study of ignorance in action.
Obviously, the events in this story have not happened… But the second Bush Administration seems even further afield than even the first, drifting from one incendiary crisis to the next. And any chain unloosed during that first administration – when sleepwalking seemed de rigueur at the cabinet level -- is unlikely to be stopped no matter who is in power.
There’s a theory that says if you think of something then it can’t happen. Otherwise, fortune telling would be part of our makeup. I offer you, then, the following nightmare scenario as my way of preventing it from ever occurring... But don’t count on it. It’s only a theory after all.
…..
The author has spent some 20 years in and out of the halls of power as a contractor for the US Department of State. He has seen these people in action. He knows that which of he speaks. Hang on to your hats.
Look out for new and upcoming submissions in the next month!
